GST Calculator in India

India applies Goods and Services Tax (GST). Following the 56th GST Council changes, the main structure uses an 18% standard rate, a 5% merit rate and a 40% special rate for specified luxury or demerit goods and services. Most revised rates took effect on 22 September 2025; some notified supplies are exempt.

GST is dual: an intra-State supply normally splits the total rate between CGST and SGST, while IGST applies to inter-State supplies. Classification and place-of-supply rules determine the actual treatment.

For a taxable value of ₹1,000, 18% GST is ₹180 and the total is ₹1,180. On an intra-State supply at that total rate, the charge is commonly shown as 9% CGST plus 9% SGST.

The calculator adds or removes only the selected total percentage. It does not split CGST, SGST and IGST, classify goods or services, apply place-of-supply rules, calculate cess, input tax credit, exemptions or returns. The result is an orientation aid, not personalised tax advice.
