GST Calculator in Belize

Belize calls the tax General Sales Tax (GST). The Belize Tax Service states that a standard-rated taxable supply or import is charged at 12.5%, while supplies or imports covered by the zero-rating schedules are charged at 0%. GST was introduced on 1 July 2006; the 12.5% rate is reflected in the current law after the 2010 amendment.

Exports can qualify for the zero rate, but the supplier must satisfy the legal conditions and retain supporting evidence.

For a standard-rated value of BZ$1,000 before GST, the tax is BZ$125 and the total is BZ$1,125. That is the arithmetic performed when 12.5% is selected.

For imports, Belize Customs calculates GST after adding applicable import duty, revenue replacement duty, excise and environmental tax to the customs value. This calculator does not build that customs base or decide zero-rating, exemption, registration or input credits. The result is an orientative estimate, not personalised tax advice.
