VAT Calculator in Barbados

Barbados applies Value Added Tax (VAT). The Barbados Revenue Authority lists 17.5% for standard supplies, 22% for telecommunications services, 7.5% for the direct-tourism category described on its rates page and 0% for zero-rated items. A separate tourism policy note sets 10% VAT on guest accommodation from 1 January 2020.

The applicable percentage depends on the supply. Zero-rated and exempt supplies are not interchangeable, and tourism levies can arise separately from VAT.

On Bds$1,000 before tax, standard VAT is Bds$175 and the total is Bds$1,175. The same base becomes Bds$1,100 at the 10% guest-accommodation rate or Bds$1,220 at the 22% telecommunications rate.

The calculator applies only a selected percentage and its existing options do not include 7.5%. It does not identify the legal category of a supply, add room, product-development or shared-economy levies, test exemptions, or prepare a VAT return.
